Role Summary
The Global Platforms team is responsible for developing and maintaining all corporate IT services, ranging from desktop engineering through on premise and cloud virtualisation, storage and SAAS products, network connectivity as well as providing an escalation point for support.

The Systems Engineer role (Tech Lead) shares day to day responsibility for the team which provides and manages the following technical services for the business:
• Active Directory
• VMWare ESXi & VCentre
• Windows Server
• Intune
• HPe server and storage hardware
• Exchange Server
• Windows clustering
• Office 365 cloud services
• Backup services
• Service automation
• Monitoring and alerting

What you will be doing
• As Systems Tech Lead, you will assist the platforms leadership team with scheduling and resource management for project delivery, and with solution and service direction.
• Work with engineers to help design projects assisting with design documentation (both structure and technical content), peer review proposed solutions and assist with change processes.
• While you are not expected to be an SME in all areas of the technology provided by the team, you should have working knowledge of all allowing you to challenge and support team member proposals.
• Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in the following technologies:
• VMWare ESXi & VCentre
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Storage technologies
• Backup tools (ideally Commvault, but training can be provided)
• Azure AD, Office 365 & Intune
• Windows Server
• Active Directory, Exchange Server, clustering and file servers
• HPe hardware
• Network routing / 802.1x / firewalling

Special Job Requirements
• As Systems Tech Lead, you will be expected to participate in an on-call rota for out of hours escalations (the Global Platforms team has staff based in Europe, the US and Asia minimising weekday out of hours escalation).
• Some travel to remote offices may be occasionally required (subject to COVID-19 restrictions)
