Role Summary
The person in this role will be responsible for the timely preparation and delivery of efficient reporting and valuable financial analysis and insight with robust controls. You will also actively seek to identify improvements in the ways of working within finance to improve efficiency, utilise systems and improve accuracy in the reporting cycle. This role spans across our rapidly evolving technology arm whilst simultaneously overseeing the finances of the Group's global information technology division.


We are looking for an experienced finance professional who is proficient in delivering results in a dynamic, fast paced environment and can collaborate effectively across the finance team and with senior stakeholders.

 

What you will be doing
• Prepare monthly management accounts for group reporting – full Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet review.
• Oversee monthly invoicing of clients across a range of product lines.
• Analyse and interpret reports relative to budgets / comparatives.
• Report and discuss variance analysis / trends with senior group accounting staff and develop ‘the story’ around monthly results and write resulting commentary.
• Tightly manage departmental budgets in relation to projects and procurement spend.
• Liaise with heads of departments to review spend compared to budget / forecast.
• Capture and develop new reporting concepts to aid business decisions.
• Review and implement global recharge mechanisms to apportion out group costs to overseas entities.
• Review software capitalisation on a monthly basis.
• Prepare supportive calculations in relation to R&D tax.
• Prepare annual statutory accounts for UK subsidiaries.
• Prepare monthly draft tax computation for UK subsidiaries.
• Liaise with auditors and preparation of schedules for auditors.
• Monitor and develop internal controls and systems.
• Investigate / problem-solve ad hoc queries from UK and overseas entities.
• Identify and support continuous changes and improvements within the business.
• Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

 

What we are looking for
Skills & Experience
• Professional finance qualification in either ACA / CIMA / ACCA (and ideally 3 years PQE)
• Strong technical financial experience, preferably within a complex global company
• Experienced in accounts preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
• Proficient in producing, understanding and interpreting complex/technical information clearly and concisely for both finance and non-finance audiences
• Demonstrable experience of developing a deep understanding of financial results, including P&L drivers, balance sheet results, business metrics, and other key trends
• Strong modelling skills, with advanced MS excel skills
• Experience of Management tools such as PowerBI would be beneficial
• Knowledge of SUN Systems or equivalent and Vision would be an advantage but not essential
