Role Summary
We are hiring a Distribution & Inventory Control Manager, based in Great Yarmouth. We are investing in our Distribution team with ongoing transition to our new purpose-built Distribution Centre and implementation of our new digitization Warehouse management system. As our Inventory Control Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the accessibility and accuracy of inventory levels across our warehouses. This will entail in-depth inventory analysis, system interrogation and maintaining an efficient stock control process to ensure optimal inventory integrity and accuracy of data.


You will also be responsible for producing and analysing inventory reports and from this, providing recommendations on stock movement, storage, and movements etc. You will also have line management responsibility of the Warehouse team. Therefore, it is key that our ideal candidate is able to manage, motivate and develop our operations team to provide high quality, cost effective and efficient service to meet our current and future demands. What you will be doing
• Responsible for ensuring the accessibility and accuracy of inventory levels across our warehouses.
• In-depth inventory analysis entailing system interrogation and maintaining and efficient stock control process to ensure optimal inventory integrity and accuracy of data.
• Responsible for producing and analysing inventory reports and from this, providing recommendations on stock movement, storage, and movements etc.
• Line management responsibility of the Warehouse team, including motivating and developing the operations team to provide high quality, cost effective and efficient service to meet our current and future demands.
• Be proficient in the use of modern data analytics and have an analytical and inquiring mind set.
• Understand WMS functionality and stock disposition.
• Lead the integration of our new WMS system alongside our own IT and external system provider.
• Will be required to travel to other Sites to carry out stock analysis and warehouse optimisation.
• Devise, implement review and report upon stock strategy within the warehouse.
• Ensure that the correct stock is in the correct position in the warehouse to enable the operation to fulfil customer orders on time.
• Maximise the storage capacity of the warehouse, whilst ensuring that the stock disposition also maximises warehouse efficiency.
• Ensure that products received in the warehouse are correctly identified and stored in the optimum location.
• Liaise with our Supply Chain to understand and plan the flow of goods into the warehouse.
• Manage the replenishment operations in the warehouse, including the bulk storage area.
• Manage the goods receipt.
• Vendor compliance duties.
• Goods category control duties.
• Default pack audits and correction duties.
• Movement of stock between locations / categories.
• Goods in, first time seen and product location management. • Additional / ad hoc duties as required in order to meet the needs of the business.

 

What we are looking for

Skills & Experience
• Successful track record of planning / production planning background.
• Experience delivering stock strategy projects.
• Extensive experience of dealing with SKU counts, multiple suppliers, and customers across many countries.
• Ability to determine and measure warehouse capacity / utilisation usage.
• Ability to extract and analyse transactional data to effect daily operational changes.
• Ability to create and manage high performing teams.
• Driven by wellbeing, quality, environment, standard procedures, KPI’s, compliance and ethical behaviour.
• Driven, proactive individual who is a self-starter and self-motivated.
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
