The Role
Our Business Development and Sales team are passionate, highly driven and professional, with an entrepreneurial spirit, working within an exciting and fast-paced environment. We have an incredible opportunity for a talented Sales Executive to join the team in our Singapore office. You will be responsible for driving new business and sales across the APAC region for our Sea/net module, the shipping industry’s most powerful market insight and intelligence tool.

The ideal candidate will have previous sales experience, with an interest in shipping and digitalisation, and preferably some experience in the shipping industry (but this is not necessarily mandatory). We are looking for a candidate with strong communication skills, with an ability to quickly build relationships, and who has a positive energy and a desire to succeed.


Role Responsibilities
• Responsible for acquiring new business and driving sales, increasing product subscriptions, and growing the client user base.
• Identify any upsell or cross-sell opportunities and cancellation risks and work to manage and increase renewals.
• Qualify, nurture and set appointments with prospect and dormant accounts.
• Learn and demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the Sea platform, modules and products in order to articulate our offering and value proposition to decision-makers, as well as be able to successfully manage and overcome objections.
• Research customers, identify decision-makers, educate prospects and qualify interest.
• Prospecting into multiple organisations via calling, networking, email, internet sources etc to build and maintain a high-quality lead pipeline and portfolio.
• Meet and strive to exceed targets to support the business to drive new customer acquisition.
• Create the very best customer experience.
• Maintain accurate activity, contact, and account information of all customers and prospects.
• Work closely with the Customer Success, Onboarding, Marketing, and Product and Technology teams with regards to sales activity, approach and insights.
• Some travel may be required (subject to the current COVID-19 pandemic).


Skills and Experience
• Previous experience in a sales role
• Experience B2B sales experience of selling tech products and solutions (preferable)
• Experience within the shipping industry (advantageous)
• Passionate, highly driven, tenacious and professional
• Exceptional communicator, both verbally and written, and an excellent listener
• Able to build strong customer rapport quickly and collaborate with internal teams
• Sales focused, with strong client facing skills
• Resilient and able to adapt to different situations
• Good negotiation skills, able to close deals
• Ability to multi-task to manage a portfolio of multiple client accounts, including prospects simultaneously
• Highly articulate with good presentation skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a rapidly growing company
• Self-starter and highly motivated, able to work autonomously and use initiative
• Technically astute with a commercial mindset, to be able to show business value of a product
• Mandarin speaker would be an advantage
