Role Responsibilities
• Use data from internal & external sources to provide the company with a competitive edge.
• Maintain existing / develop new solutions to maximize the utility of data within the business.
• Hands-on full lifecycle understanding of requirements and delivery of reports, dashboards and data feeds.
• Understand and document new and existing data requirements and translating these into high-level database designs and then implementing.
• Proactively identify opportunities for data quality improvements.
• Manage the relationship with stakeholders and users of the data.
• Work with the development team to contribute to project delivery, review T-SQL code and provide occasional best practice guidance.
• Process large data sets/forecasting.
• Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.


Skills and Experience
Technical Experience
• SQL 2012-2019 / Azure SQL DB
• SSIS & Azure Data Factory
• Analysis Services Tabular
• Git/Azure DevOps
• Power Platform (Power BI On-premise and embedded service / Powerapps /Power Automate)


Essential Skills & Experience:
• Experience in the Technical Environment outlined above.
• Self-starter - will lead and provide the energy to get projects delivered.
• Capable of working on multiple new and mature projects simultaneously.
• Strong T-SQL skills. Confident with advanced functions and complex datasets from transactional and batch sources.
• Understanding of data flows and lineage and able to implement these using SSIS/ADF ETL tools
• Strong analytical skills - Analysing financial data, models etc.
• Ad doc reporting & requirements gathering (engaging with the business, stakeholders and end-users).
• Able to independently test and validate reporting solution outputs.
• Communicating complex technical issues clearly.
• Good understanding of DW modelling terminology & techniques.
• Design & Authoring Reports in Power BI.


Desirable Skills & Experience:
Azure Databrick
• Client facing experience working with customers to understand, document and implement requirements.
• Comfortable using GIT/Azure Devops CI/CD for code & development management.
• Experience with DevOps Build and Release Pipelines.
• Experience with data cleansing and/or master data management.
• Powershell scripting experience.
• Work with JSON data payloads and calling APIs to consume data.
• Previous experience as a full stack developer.
• Documenting solutions and architectures.


Desirable Qualifications & Exams:
• MCSA: BI Reporting
• MCSA: SQL 2016 BI Development
• MS Exam 70-778: Analysing and Visualising Data with Microsoft Power BI
