The Role
We are looking for a talented Product Designer who can aid in the crafting of exceptional user experiences for one of the core products within the Sea/ platform. The ideal candidate will possess solid visual skills and a have keen eye for detail – both in terms of the visual aesthetic, and for interaction and behaviour.
The successful candidate will collaborate daily with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and engineers towards building best in class solutions. At Maritech we embolden a bottom-up collective ownership of the “product”, so the designer filling this role will be encouraged to be the “voice of design” within the team. It carries a responsibility to lead design and requirement gathering exercises as much as committing pixels to the screen for mock-ups and prototypes.

Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills are a must, and the role will also encompass significant interaction with key stakeholders, both from the user and customer base so candidates will need to be comfortable presenting concepts and ideas both to many levels of the business. This is a role that is best suited to a designer who wants ownership of a product and understands responsibility does not cease at the delivery of approved mock-ups.

Role Responsibilities
As a designer joining the team you will be responsible for:
• Working with other project and business stakeholders in the creation of designs from the macro requirements of an entire applications to micro level of subtle interactions within an individual component.
• Creating high and low definition wireframes, interactive prototypes, and visual documentation according to project requirements.
• Influencing user research, and the evaluation of user feedback for consideration into future application functionality and evolution.
• Helping promote the UX design guidelines, best practices and standards.
• Being the voice of the user, ensuring the business takes their needs into consideration.
• We have an established product “brand” and design system; so whilst such a set of patterns and visual vocabulary is never “complete” and always evolving; this is not a role suited to somebody who wants to come in a design an products interface from scratch.

• Demonstrable experience working on data-heavy, enterprise level applications with a portfolio that displays not just the final product; but the design process explored whilst working to find the eventual solution;
• A tenacious approach to the design process, approaching requirements conceptually, visually and with a view to the experience across a broad range of screen sizes;
• An obsession with delivering the best possible solution, whilst working with an open mind-set and adaptable attitude to cope with changing requirements the business needs to make to adjust to market conditions;
• A compulsion to safeguard even the minutest of visual details and nuances are adhered too, ensuring the end user experience is exactly as designed;
• Be a positive and confident communicator, with the skills and an ability to both influence and negotiate with a variety of business stakeholders.
