Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Broker to join the Dry Cargo Panamax team in our Tokyo office. The ideal candidate should have a successful Broking background within Dry Cargo, be driven and focused, and be a strong relationship builder.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Handle day-to-day, spot broking, also COA and period time-charter.
  • Understand the business strategy for the division and seek to identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients.
  • Liaise with shipowners and/or charterers and staff in the company's other offices worldwide.
  • Work in any area of the dry cargo market.
  • Drive revenue and expand and develop the customer base both in and outside Japan.
  • Handle necessary shipping documentation.
  • Perform market analysis and provide market insight and trade ideas to clients.
  • Provide market insights to clients.
  • Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements

  • Dry cargo shipping experience.
  • Min 2/5 years' experience in dry bulk sector.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Good level English language ability is required, and Japanese language ability is essential.
