Division Overview

The Green Transition team was formally established in 2020 and plays a crucial role in informing positive change and leading the industry towards greener and more sustainable shipping. Our mission is to be the way-finder for the industry on its journey through to net-zero emissions by providing advice, strategic guidance, and execution services, to help reach the sustainable objectives.
The Carbon Broking team is a central part of our green offering and is located across Europe at key locations to advise our client base on decarbonisation strategies. It provides a frontline service to hedge risk through a variety of environmental products.


Role Summary
We are seeking a Broker to join our Carbon desk in Oslo. The ideal candidate will have a successful broking background in the shipping industry, with around 1 to 5 years’ relevant experience and will be commercially driven with strong interpersonal skills. Onsite training will be involved during the first month which will be spent in the London HQ meeting with desk heads.


What you will be doing
• Drive revenue and expand the client base.
• Develop the business strategy for the division and seek to identify new opportunities.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the Environmental market space.
• Perform market analysis and provide market insight to clients.
• Assist with creating and writing daily market reports.
• Identify and introduce new clients to the market and maintain professional relationships.
• Travel and attend client social events where required.
• To fulfil any additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.


What we are looking for
• 1 – 5 years relevant experience
• Commodity broking or energy/freight experience is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Personable and engaging, able to build strong relationships
• Strong commercial judgement with excellent negotiation skills
• Driven, self-motivated and client focused
• Strong numeracy skills and excellent presentation skills
• Confident and able to work well under pressure
• Good MS office skills
