Role Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a graduate/post-graduate to join our Tanker Market Analysis team in London as a junior tanker analyst. This is an entry-level role to work in a team analysing shipping and commodity markets, with tasks to include managing and transforming large data sets and responding to broker and client requests. Career progression prospects within this role include client-facing work and exposure to the commercial side of the shipping industry, as well as the opportunity to help grow the data analytics framework of the team.

What you’ll be doing
• Maintaining key databases and presentation slide packs that underpin the work of the Tanker Market Analysis team. 

• Supporting senior team members in preparing presentations that are delivered to key clients.
• Providing general assistance to the Tanker Market Analysis team and brokers with a variety of ad-hoc analytical requests.
• Using internal software to track and analyse vessel activities with relevance to commodity markets and geopolitical developments.
• Possibility to interact with a wide range of internal and external clients and attain a good understanding of the global shipping industry.
• Working on the maintenance and development of databases and improvement of automation and data processing.
• Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Proficiency in:
- MS Powerpoint
- Excel pivot tables
- Excel formulas e.g. arrays & boolean logic
- Python (at least beginner level)

Some knowledge of the following would also be beneficial:
- VBA
- Power Query
- Power BI
- Databricks
- SQL
- R Statistical Analysis

• Willingness to continue learning and finding practical solutions using the above applications.
• Have a very strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Have an ability to resolve conflicting data. 

• Have excellent communication skills, being fluent in written and spoken English.
• Must be a team player and able to collaborate and work well as part of a results-oriented, office-based workplace.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, determination, high quality output.
