Role Summary
This role provides experienced accounting & co-ordination on a variety of key finance operations for a significant number of the UK businesses and legal entities within the Group.
The person in this role will be responsible as part of a team for the accurate and timely delivery of all day-to-day finance operations for a large number of the UK legal entities including the management and statutory accounting, supplier payments and cash management. We are looking for a qualified accountant who is proficient in delivering results in a dynamic, fast paced environment and can collaborate effectively across the wider finance team and with senior stakeholders across a number of functions.


What you’ll be doing

• Assist in managing the UK accounting team’s delivery of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet & cash flows.
• Review & challenge all the monthly management accounts, supporting schedules & reports for required UK legal entities, understanding all key movements
• Thorough review of the balance sheet for London based entities and assist with clean-up where required, and provide commentary and analysis where needed
• Manage UK accounting team’s review of intercompany transactions, liaising with other finance teams in other locations where needed
• Assist with the preparation and review of 2022’s statutory accounts for all required entities under FRS102 and equivalent tax returns.
• Assist with the preparation and review of financial packs supporting the tax filings and reporting
• Liaise with external auditors and preparation of schedules for auditors as required.

• Investigate / problem-solve ad hoc queries as they arise.
• Identify and support improvements within the business.
• Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the Group.

Key Skills & Experience
• Professional finance qualification in either ACA / CIMA / ACCA
• Strong technical financial experience, preferably within a complex global company
• Experienced in accounts preparation and management reporting
• Proficient in producing, understanding, and interpreting complex/technical information clearly and concisely for both finance and non-finance audiences
• Demonstrable experience of developing a deep understanding of financial results, including P&L drivers, balance sheet results, business metrics, and other key trends
• Knowledge of SunSystems or Workday would be an advantage but not essential
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Numerate and highly analytical
• An effective communicator (verbal and written), able to liaise with people at all levels
• An ability to lead and motivate, supporting the Financial Controller, London in managing a diverse team of finance professionals across a number of key disciplines
• Able to work effectively in teams and across functions of the business
• A strong problem solver who is results focused and able to use initiative
• Self-motivated and highly organised, able to multitask and manage multiple priorities with competing demands and work to tight deadlines
• Able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
