Role Summary
This role provides financial and administrative support for the Clarksons Group. The person in this role will be responsible for ensuring suppliers are paid on a timely basis, expenses have been authorised appropriately and recorded accurately. You will also seek to provide any additional cover for the Accounts Payable team where you can.
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk who will work well as part of our team and “hit the ground running” quickly and effectively, in a fast-paced environment.


What you’ll be doing
• Processing of purchase invoices and expenses, ensuring correct coding and VAT treatment.
• Ensuring purchase invoices and expenses have appropriate authorisation.
• Preparing bi-weekly supplier payment runs.
• Analysing expenses.
• Handling credit card returns.
• Monitoring aged creditors report.
• Reconciling supplier statements.
• Liaising with suppliers regarding any queries.
• General ad-hoc purchase ledger queries.
• Assistance to daily treasury ops team where possible.

• Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Key Skills & Experience
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with people at all different levels.
• Experience in a similar role, preferably within a complex global company.
• Knowledge of SunSystems would be an advantage but not essential.
• Good level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to work in a close-knit team.
• Good understanding of VAT treatment on expenses and importance of accurate account coding for tax purposes.
• Self-motivated and highly organised.
• Able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
