Role Summary
It’s an exciting time to come and work with us! As a market leader, we operate in a buoyant, fastpaced and evolving marketplace, and we continually strive to adapt to our clients’ needs. We are looking for a Junior to join our Tankers team in London to provide broker support. You will work alongside our experienced Brokers and carry out various tasks as outlined in the description below. This role would suit a school leaver with an interest in shipping, and someone who is hard working and self-motivated with a flexible and proactive approach, and wants to work in a fast paced, dynamic broking environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the day-to-day activities of the Brokers on the Tankers (Products) desk.
  • Maintain databases and prepare market information and reports for clients.
  • Help to manage internal data flow of key market information.
  • Maintain a database of sales activity.
  • Undertake administrative tasks such as dealing with emails, assisting with contracts and correspondence.
  • Help to field queries and establish and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Attend meetings and events where required.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation and assist with producing internal and external reporting.
  • Help to conduct post fixture support in a prompt and efficient manner.

  • An interest in shipping/shipbroking
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Personable and engaging, able to build strong relationships
  • Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines
  • Confident and able to work well under pressure, with ability to adapt
  • Works with integrity and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Good MS office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Openness to new ideas and experiences
  • Would suit a school leaver with good A Level results
