2026 Broking Summer Internship (shipping & commodities rotations) - London
15 June to 17 July (5 weeks)
Kick-start your career with a summer internship in broking
Based at our incredible London office, you will rotate across different broking desks, providing a fantastic opportunity to learn about broking, while gaining valuable exposure and insights into some of the shipping and commodities markets we operate in. With opportunities to learn from the expertise of our world-class teams, and access to Clarksons learning resources, you will gain knowledge and experience to contribute to your professional development, and provide perspective on what is needed to thrive in this dynamic industry.
What we’re looking for
We're looking for candidates who are interested in a broking career in shipping and/or commodities, with the ability to demonstrate:
- Relationship building, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build rapport
- Drive and self-motivation, with the desire and commitment to succeed, deliver excellence and make positive change
- Resilience with the ability to persist and adapt
- Collaboration, able to work well with others across diverse backgrounds to share information, develop skills, and deliver results
- Smart problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a curious and inquisitive mind, and an openness to new ideas
- Professionalism and a respect for company values
Other requirements:
- strong numerical and presentation skills
- proficiency in MS Office skills (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- fluency in English
- 2nd language such as Mandarin, Korean, Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese (advantageous but not mandatory)
Entry criteria
This internship is open to:
- early career candidates (including school and college leavers, undergraduates, and graduates) who are able to commit to the duration of the 5-week summer internship, and;
- candidates who have the right to work in the UK (as we are unable to provide sponsorship)
This internship is a potential pathway to a future career within Clarksons, and so is ideal for candidates who are ready to transition into a full-time role. As such, applications from candidates who are able to embark on a full-time career may receive priority consideration.
