Role Summary
We are seeking a Quayside Operative to join our team in Ipswich performing duties both on the Quayside and in the Warehouse. This role will involve operating and driving vehicle machinery, labouring tasks and cargo sampling, and would suit someone who is self-motivated and hardworking, with a flexible and willing manner, who has a focus on accuracy.
What you’ll be doing
- Receiving and reloading commodities, namely grain and animal feed.
- Safely operating a front-loading shovel to load and unload commodities.
- Safely operating other plant such as forklift trucks and HGVs.
- Maintaining the shovels to a high standard, carrying out pre-checks and report any damage/faults to management.
- General labouring tasks, including the manual handling of commodity with care.
- Ensuring the site is kept clean and tidy to a high standard.
- Undertaking work duties in accordance with Company procedures and Quality Systems, and in compliance with all health and safety requirements at all times.
- Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements
- Full clean driving license
- Experience of operating front-loading shovels is desirable but not essential as training may be given to the right candidate
- Experience of operating forklift trucks and HGVs advantageous but not essential
- Flexible and willing manner
- Punctual and reliable
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- A focus on accuracy and strong attention to detail
