Role Summary

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Manager to join our team on a full-time basis to run our fast-paced warehouse. This will involve directing the distribution of Tools and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to our customers within the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors across the UK and overseas. You will be responsible for overseeing the Warehouse Team and coordinating the goods in, dispatch and storage of goods activities in our warehouse to maximise the efficiency of the operation whilst ensuring all consignments are made on time and in full.

The ideal candidate will have warehouse management experience within a fast-paced, highly pressurised warehouse environment. The person in this role will also be looked upon to motivate and coordinate a team of warehouse operatives whilst displaying high levels of leadership. Organisational skills are paramount to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse ensuring all goals are achieved.

 

This is a hands-on role covering a wide range of warehouse management, distribution and logistics disciplines, making the position very rewarding, with the ability to make a direct and positive impact on the performance of the division.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing all warehousing disciplines – receiving, put-away, pick, pack and despatch operations applying prioritisation for urgent tasks as required.
  •  Leading and delegating tasks to all warehouse operatives, ensuring they remain organised and motivated.
  • Resource planning to maximise efficiency and ensure operational success.
  • Managing all inbound deliveries from individual consignments, palleted through to shipping containers.
  • Organising the dispatch of goods via our collection point, company vehicle fleet and couriers.
  • • Liaising daily with our Supply Chain and Sales Teams to understand the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse.
  • • Maintaining health and safety standards ensuring full compliance with company regulations.
  • • Maintaining the highest of housekeeping standards.
  • • Working with the Distribution & Inventory Manager to drive continual improvement process, operations.
  • • Developing warehouse operatives and identify any training requirements.
  • • Responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of warehouse operatives including leave/sickness absence records.
  • • Managing and carrying out all stocktaking duties IAW the stocktaking plan.
  • • Managing the company fleet of vehicles ensuring all daily inspections are carried out.
  • • Any additional duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements

  • Warehouse management experience, managing staff in a busy and demanding environment.
  • A good knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy.
  • Experience in a role with Health & Safety responsibilities.
  • Previous experience of receiving goods in, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping within set time limits.
  • Excellent leadership and verbal/written communication skills that can motivate and develop productive teams.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritise consistently under pressure.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional, confident, engaging, and friendly with a flexible can-do attitude.
  • IT Literate, with any working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and MS office.
  • Appreciation and an interest in providing good customer service.
  • Desirable skills and qualifications
  • Reach & Tier/Counterbalance Forklift licence.
  • Previous experience in handling tools and PPE would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement.
