Role Summary

We are looking for a Freight Forwarder to join our team in Belfast. You will be responsible for arranging freight shipments from beginning to close, including: booking acceptance, arranging with shipping line, processing customs, creating documentation, follow up and invoicing, whilst providing first class customer service throughout. The ideal candidate will have previous freight forwarding experience, with a good understanding of the necessary processes and documentation.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Arrange, book and monitor cargo shipments with hauliers, airlines, and shipping lines.
  • A good understanding of the correct customs procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and help them to identify the most appropriate form of transport.
  • Liaising with overseas agents to manage consolidation of inbound LCL containers.
  • Track shipments and notify clients of any changes of timings of cargo arriving.
  • Gather information and provide clients with accurate quotations, pricing and timelines for shipments.
  • Process purchase invoices in Boxtop.
  • Raise sales invoices including monthly file Invoices from Boxtop.
  • Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements

  • Minimum 3 years previous freight forwarding experience within a similar environment
  • Customer service oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Conscientious, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of integrity and commitment
  • Self-starter who is highly organised with good problem-solving ability
  • Able to use own initiative and prioritise
  • Team player with a willing and flexible approach to work
  • Adaptable, able to learn quickly and multi-task
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Positive and enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude
  • Good MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
