Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Sale & Purchase Broker, specialising in the secondhand market, to join our team in Athens. You will be responsible for facilitating the sale and purchase of secondhand vessels, from initial enquiry through to final delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years+ up to senior level with a strong understanding of the global shipping industry, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
What you’ll be doing
- Act as an intermediary between shipowners, buyers, and sellers in the secondhand vessel market.
- Source and match vessels with potential buyers based on client requirements and market intelligence.
- Conduct market research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of vessel availability, pricing trends, and transactional activity.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of sale and purchase agreements, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
- Coordinate inspections, surveys, and delivery logistics in collaboration with technical and legal teams.
- Prepare and review documentation including MOAs, class records, and flag state requirements.
- Maintain and grow a strong network of industry contacts including shipowners, operators, brokers, and financiers.
- Provide clients with vessel valuations and strategic advice based on market data and vessel condition.
- Ensure all transactions comply with international regulations and company policies.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the market space.
- Travel and attending client social events where required.
- Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements
- Minimum 2 years+ relevant experience up to senior level
- Proven experience in Sale & Purchase shipbroking, ideally with a focus on secondhand vessels
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong numeracy skills and excellent presentation skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a global team
- High focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident and able to work well under pressure
